The RPK department is the oldest at the university. The first issue of mining engineers was held in 1924. It's one of the oldest jobs of a man. For over four thousand years, it has targeted minerals for their industrial processing.

The mining industry is now the primary economic activity of mankind. No electronics, cybers and other emerging areas of modern science and technology can be fully exploited without the industry. Therefore, a young man will find a wide range of activities in the mining field aimed at building material values and addressing the current challenges of science and technology.

The foundation of the mining industry of Ukraine is coal production. Coal is the only energy that can be used for years by man. A modern coal mine is a complex production with a technology chain starting deep underground and ending on the surface. The mining industry has complex passageways, extractive, transporting and other machine complexes. Only highly trained professionals can manage this complex economy.

The speciality of mineral deposit processing includes several specializations.
After graduation, our graduates can work:

  • Mine;
  • career;
  • On the mine of any ore and salt;
  • For the extraction of marbles and other separating stones;
  • on the construction of the subway, etc.;
  • Project, research and training establishments in the mining sector.

The level of knowledge, the breadth of horticulture and the ability to think acquired over the years of study is so great that our graduates can meet in any position, from the minister to the presidents of the bank. " Mining processing " is the most necessary and universal speciality for Donbass. And not just for Donbass. The cafédra trained mining engineers for 19 long-term countries from Europe, Asia, Africa and Latin America.

In total, more than 13,000 professionals have been trained in mining since the cafeteria.
